So the teacher search is in full force and it has been quite a challenge! Washington County School District is saying that they are having a severe teacher shortage and only expect it to get worse. The result is larger class sizes, less qualified and less appealing teacher hires, etc.
We, too, have found the search to be more difficult than anticipated. However, we do have a few really strong (and exciting!) prospects that we're working with at the moment.
Here are some of the tasks to report on since our last update:
Completed:
501(c)(3) non-profit
The entity has been created, the board organized, and the EIN, etc completed
The tax-exempt portion will take up to a year to get from the federal government since our expenditures will be over $50k/year.
Board defined, organized, and are having meetings
