We trust this message finds you well. It has been an exhilarating first full week back from our break, filled with exciting activities and valuable learning experiences. Here's a glimpse into the happenings in our dynamic classroom:
Holiday Reminder: No School on Monday
As a quick reminder, next week Monday is a holiday, so there will be no school until Tuesday. Enjoy the extended weekend!
Fostering a Love for Reading
In our pursuit of academic excellence, we've been diligently working on enhancing reading skills. We encourage students to read aloud for 15 minutes each day at home. This simple yet powerful practice not only aids in comprehension but also boosts confidence in reading. Your support in reinforcing this habit is greatly appreciated.
Solar System Exploration in Science
Our science endeavors reached new heights as we completed a remarkable 60-foot model of the solar system. This hands-on project provided invaluable insights into the vast distances between planets. Discussions about Mars exploration and the possibility of venturing further into the cosmos sparked engaging conversations among our students.

Mathematical Adventures with Singapore Math and Khan Academy
The world of mathematics is buzzing with excitement as we dive into both Singapore math and Khan Academy. Navigating through the complexities of large numbers, each grade is immersed in its unique curriculum. The class atmosphere is vibrant, making learning a truly enjoyable experience.
Creativity Unleashed in History/Writing Class
Our history/writing class has been a hub of creativity as we conclude our own King/Queen creation stories. Drawing inspiration from the legend of King Arthur and the sword in the stone, students have crafted imaginative tales. Emphasizing structure, descriptive language, and proper formatting, we're nurturing budding storytellers.
Mastering the Art of Typing
Typing is not just a skill; it's a challenge worth conquering. We're honing correct techniques and practicing consistently. Parents, please encourage your students to apply these learned techniques when using computers at home.
Robotics Adventures: Building, Creating, and Innovating
In robotics, the excitement is palpable as we delve into the mechanics of moving objects. Engaging in free building time, students are constructing machines designed to grab, lift, and move various items. The beauty lies in their creativity – each student bringing their unique ideas to life.
4H Exploration: Guinea Pigs and a Nostalgic Tale
Our 4H adventures have led us to the delightful world of Guinea Pigs. Special thanks to Mr. Garate for bringing in three adorable Guinea Pigs and adding an extra layer of excitement to our animal studies. And speaking of animal adventures, Mr. Arnold shared a humorous childhood tale from his appearance on Romper Room involving a mischievous Guinea Pig – a memory to cherish!
Wishing you all a fantastic holiday weekend, and looking forward to seeing everyone back in class on Tuesday!
Best regards,
The Teacher (Tim)
